I wondered about that for different reasons - the one that was recommended to me to replace the Belkin I had, which was powered by a wall wart, was only powered by the USB bus. It's a little tiny IOGear shaped like a sort of triangle, with four cable sets hard-molded into the back of it. That little tiny KVM has lived in back of my monitors for the better part of three years now and I've never had a problem with - it's had a lot of different hardware and operating systems thrown at it, and it always works - the other issue I used to have with my older Belkin was poor hi-rez video performance - I run most of my stuff at 1600X1200 and that was a big deal - there was video distortion that was directly related to the rez, and I could cure it by down rezzing my graphic card settings. The little IOGear is rated at higher rez than what I use, and I've put my laptop on it, which runs at 1920X1200, and it didn't falter. -- Claude Jones Brunswick, MD, USA
