Turns out it's xine-lib-extras-nonfree.i386 and it's already
installed. What's the next plan of action?

I remember to have a similar problem, and -- if am recalling it well
-- I solved it with making a symbolic link to the codecs of mplayer.
Try to check where xine is trying to locate the codec for wmv and then
try to a make symbolic link in order to make it accessible to xine.
