Ok, I'm using 2.0.0.1 and making that change in about:config had no
effect that I can see. I DID see a pile of residue from old extensions
that had been installed once and since removed. No wonder it takes
awhile to fire up. There are as many dead lines as there are active
ones. How to get rid of the the obviously useless entries?

Myself I'd rather not have any damn "pluggers" at all, cause someone
else is deciding for me what to use. I wish we had the old Netscape
tools under preferences where you decide for yourself. Ric
