Per the info Rex asked for above I found that I had no /etc/pam.d/kscreensaver
file only a /etc/pam.d/xscreensaver file. I grabbed a kscreensaver file from
another FC5 box I have, placed it in the /etc/pam.d directory with
appropriate ownership/perms based on the xscreensaver file - rebooted and
presto! I can unlock my screensaver with my passwd again.

Thanks Rex!
