Hi Foks. I.m trying to install VMware to run windoz and my windows
games. When comiling I get this message:-

I have VMware server running on FC6, though one kernel package release
behind (2.6.18-1.2798.fc6). Something to check is that you're not
being bitten by the kernel 1586/1686 mismatch caused by a bug in the
installer[1].

(I don't play any games, but I've heard a few folks I know say that
that the graphics in VMware weren't fast enough for their liking.)

I'm perusing that page at the moment. I also have the Xen kernel
installed but do not have an ftp server set up to install windoz from.
What would you recommend would be the best virtalization route to take
for what I want to achieve? Any input from the list on the pros and cons
of the different virtalization software would be apreciated. I'm new to
this kind of thing

There is a big difference in speed between VMWare Server and VMWare Runtime. The runtime is a lot faster. I use Server to create images and runtime to actually use them. Neither would be good for gaming. (At least 1st person shooters. Maybe after a few whiskey shooters...)
