Yes, I was connected to the Internet;
But I just had upgraded the level of my ISP services. Everything else
worked fine (better) except gnome-dictionary. Maybe that had something
to do with it. In any case, my dictionary got itself fixed overnight
and now works fine.
Those overnight repairs are great. Maybe the on-line site was having
troubles or something at the time. At least it now is fixed.
