Every time you change /etc/sensors.conf

you have to run (as root)

sensors -s

Otherwise, you will not use the new file, until you reboot.

Another file to look at is:

/etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors

which holds the modules to be loaded for your board.
It can be (re)created using (as root),

/usr/sbin/sensors-detect

and answering yes to all questions.

As a final remark, ATrpms has an updated version of the lm_sensors rpm.
It does not hurt to try.
