Upgrade to a more recent version of Fedora. You must be using quite an old (=unsupported) version to have a MySQL version < 4.1.
If you really must stick with the old version for some reason then use the RPMs from www.mysql.com, but be warned: you can get into dependency problems; the RPMs are packaged quite differently to Fedora.
