It does happen. It's a regression in FC6 (from FC5). It's already in Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=209306 The fix would be to revert the "fix" for #187308 (which is only a memory consumption issue, not a real bug; as it turned out, the segfault in that report was probably due to bad RAM according to the submitter), but so far that has not been done.
