There were several bugs for video cards back in FC4 where the virtual
terminals were blank. Mostnotably with the i810 video and if I recall,
MGA video was effected also.

Is your system updated to the latest FC4 packages? I don't know if FC4
is completely unsupported now or if legacy still has the latest packages
before FC4 was discontinued. The original packages for X were not in
working order if I recall.

Your best bet would be to use a later snapshot of Fedora, like FC6
instead of trying to get the older FC4 to work for you.

What is your video card on your computer?

Meanwhile, you are probably stuck with the GUI and no terminals. Your
specific language that you use might also be a factor also.
