[dtripp@aupolei ~]$ echo $XARCH
i686

You're Athlon is definitely an i686 processor. What does XARCH say?

Why should I install the i586 kernel whilst the
other
kernels are installed?

[olivares@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa kernel*
kernel-headers-2.6.18-1.2849.fc6
kernel-devel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6
kernel-2.6.18-1.2849.fc6
kernel-devel-2.6.18-1.2849.fc6
kernel-2.6.18-1.2798.fc6

I know that kernle-2.6.18-1.2868.fc6 is in
updates,
but why does the i586 2798 show up?

Thanks,

Antonio
