many of us are running the flash_player_9 beta version.

Nowhere does it say what your issues are but generally having
libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins should be sufficient for
it to work

Thanks much for the pointer. I removed what files for flashplayer were
in .mozilla plugins, copied the flash*.so file to the .mozilla/plugins
directory, and all is well.
