Thank you very much for your reply.

Unfortunately, when I run: 
yum install --enablerepo=drpixel kmod-gspca

I get this error message:
Transaction Check Error:   package kernel-2.6.18-1.2849.fc6 is already

The camera still doesn't work (looking at the video set-up in both 
Kopete and Ekiga. No device found.)

Do I uninstall the older files which are causing the conflicts and 
then run 'yum install' again? I don't want to risk doing anything 
like that without knowing it's the correct thing to do! It is a bit 
peculiar, as the new files are the same number as the older ones.
