What file(s) does system-config-services modify??

Hi,

How can I do the same thing  in console which I do from
system-config-services graphically??   what file(s) I need to modify
and how to do that (supposing I want to start the httpd, smb, ftp  in
run-level 3 and 5 during startup etc.)?

Some guidance needed pls
