This am trying to do a yum, I got an rpm error.  I tried to do a
--rebuilddb and this is the same error, so it is not a yum error, but an
rpm error after the last update

[bpm]$ sudo rpm --rebuilddb
error: db4 error(-1076673940) from db->open: Unknown error: -1076673940
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 -  (-1076673940)

Do I need to roll back rpm?

Sorry to reply to my own post.  The last yum upgrade was the following from the /var/log/yuym.log

Nov 28 19:11:08 Updated: vnc-server.i386 4.1.2-7.fc6
Nov 28 19:11:18 Updated: selinux-policy-targeted.noarch 2.4.5-3.fc6
Nov 28 19:11:19 Updated: traceroute.i386 3:2.0.2-1.fc6

Nothing there to show some rpm problem.  I hate to say it, but I couldn't think of anything else so I rebooted my laptop.
I've been just suspending it for a long time.
After the reboot, it works correctly.

Don't know about that, but at least it now works.
