I have also tried the latest fc6 kernel with the same result. 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6

not sure where to go next with this.

I have installed the update kernel onto a box that is running kernel-2.6.18-1.2200.fc5 successfully bringing the machine up to 2.6.18-1.2239.fc5 but on reboot the kernal reports that option "mand" is not recognised for ext3 file systems. Removing this from the fstab does not remove the problem so this looks like something store din the superblock. This is an smp i686 release not rebuilt from  source. Anybody else seen this.

The mandatory locking is set on the root file system and I suspect that this is the problem - the full  tool set is probably not available when this mount is being made...

Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be gratefully received.
