Thunderbird and mailto links

This may be off topic, but I'd appreciate knowing if it's my system or
something more general.

If I click a mailto link in firefox, Thunderbird creates a new message
with "mailto:"; included in the address.

Is it just me or is this something to bug for Thunderbird?
