I have > restarted the cron daemon to no avail. This walks and quacks about like the duck I was pursueing earlier. I too had no /etc/crontab file after a bare metal FC6 install. I finally touched the file, re-ran kcron, and then got a valid file written by kcron, or so the trailer in the file claims. Actually, I could restart the cron daemon but service always said the shutdown stage failed, and the startup was ok. But I could ps -ea|grep cron and come back empty too. I wonder what install combo manages to trigger this? -- Cheers, Gene
