Nothing came out, so I checked the cups interface on the server and saw that the printout had gone to the raw server: Description: For use with XP Location: For use with XP Printer State: idle, accepting jobs. "Sending print file, 1205831 bytes..." Device URI: usb:/dev/usb/lp0 It tells me that I don't have permission to do anything with this printer - I had given the root password. Obviously I need to clear the queue of this file, or nothing else is going to print, even with the basic raw printer setting. Anne
