The original kernel with FC5 didn't support my TI controller on my laptop, but sometime later the updated kernels did. I think it was the 2.6.17 kernel, but I could be wrong. You may have to set the mode of the controller at bootup. (I have to check if that is still needed with the latest kernels.)
