One way to avoid the lack of GNOME -- Join the legions of people who are now fed up with
---Red Hat Enterprise/Corporate products and the lukewarm support even with GFS/RHCS,
---fed up with the FC 'spyware' movement w/FC6 (and now more desktop problems)
----and now fed up with the selling of SuSE to the Redmond Devil.
All roads leave to UBUNTU

Aron, if Gnome has disappeared, it sounds like to me that FC6 is
becoming more advanced.
Having said that tho....just for the heck of it I would go to
fedoraunity.org and download the latest Unity DVD of FC6. The Unity
releases have all the updates built in, up to a certain date of course.
That should minimize your troubles or hopefully eliminate this one
altogether.
Hmmm...good thing I checked, the main fedoraunity site is down,
evidently cause of hardware trouble, but their torrent mirror site is
still up. You need to go here
http://torrent.fedoraunity.org/
Evidently the install cd's are broken up into KDE and Gnome versions
now, with the FC6 unity releases.
