i have two boxes running fast

I have a number of boxes running 2.6.17-1.2142_FC4

i have two specifiaclly
2.6.17-1.2142_FC4smp #1 SMP Tue Jul 11 22:57:02 EDT 2006 i686 athlon
i386 GNU/Linux

i have two that are simularly configured and both the clocks keep
running fast. ( like minutes every hour)

one boot with
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.17-1.2142_FC4smp ro root=/dev/md2

and the other

kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.17-1.2142_FC4smp ro root=/dev/md3 no_timer_check

Thanks for any help on how to correct this
