boots OK.
What power recovery related file might be corrupt that would affect one
kernel and not another but not be deleted/replaced with a remove and
reinstall of the kernel?

There is a problem with the new FC-5 kernel when you have / on raid 5
arrays. mkinitrd is trying to load raid5 when it should be loading
raid456. If this is your problem, then the fix is to boot into a
working kernel and do:
mkinitrd -vf --with=raid456 /boot/initrd-2.6.18-1.2200.fc5.img \
2.6.18-1.2200.fc5
There is a bz on this, don't recall the number.
