I have tried it. I hope I did everything as instructed. I wanted to
get an answer to you quickly, so I haven't had time to analyse it fully.
suffice to say it "makes" with a list if ieee80211 warnings, and doesn't
find the afterwards. These entries are in "messages".

Oct 23 07:54:16 dell kernel: ipw3945: no version for
"ieee80211_wx_get_encodeext" found: kernel tainted.
Oct 23 07:54:16 dell kernel: ipw3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Network
Connection driver for Linux, 1.1.0d
Oct 23 07:54:16 dell kernel: ipw3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel
Corporation
Oct 23 07:54:16 dell kernel: ipw3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless
3945ABG Network Connection
Oct 23 07:54:21 dell kernel: ipw3945: disagrees about version of symbol
struct_module

I should repeat that I did not get the patch to ipw3945 to work.

Thanks again
