A few days ago I copied some files to a USB Memory stick. No problem.
Now I'm needing to copy some more files to the same memory stick and
it's telling me it's a read-only file system. I had zero problems
with this the other day.
mount is as follows:
/dev/sda1 on /media/USB-DISK type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noatime,uid=500,utf8,shortname=lower)
It should be writeable.

Thanks for any pointers.
Mike

A quick look at the logs shows apparently problems with the drive. Do
I need to reformat it or what? It still has the default WinBlows setup
on it.

Just a thought.

How big were the files you were copying. There is an issue open for problems in syncing the drive and the icon disappearing before the drive is safe to unmount. I toasted a file system when transferring ~300M.
Once by accident and twice to recreate the problem to prove it.

No, these were 12 or so average size .pdf files. Nothing big Robin.

Thanks!
Mike
