That gives me one central point for configuration. I, too, prefer static. Though I keep one machine dynamically on DHCP for testing, and visitors can use DHCP to auto-configure to my network. My DHCP and DNS servers are integrated, dynamic machines are automatically added and removed from the local DNS. I find this, overall, the least headache to manage. -- (Currently running FC4, occasionally trying FC5.) Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.
