There's not much point upgrading to FC3 as it's already in "maintenance mode" and will get very little support. Even if you did, there are a great many changes between FC1 and FC3 (e.g. 2.6 kernel, SELinux) and a fresh install would like yield a much better result.
What are the critical applications you have running on this machine? Paul.
