(Press quote and space to > get a quote.) You may find that annoying long term though. Probably moreso than the workaround I just found. This is kde-3.3.0 here, and in the menu "accessories->more accessories->KCharSelect", one can cause the clicked on characters to be placed in the clipboard for pasteing into a message, so that I can now spell Jörg correctly even if it takes 20 seconds to maneuver the menu's and do it. The default display size is too small and I have to drag resize the window it opens larger, which in turn scales the windows contents up to fit and makes the font readable. For one character at a time, or even a whole word by clicking on the desired chars, its a workaround. Too bad this stuff doesn't Just Work(®) by pressing the alt key and the right key for the desired char like it did on the old amiga keyboards. And its one reason a lot of folks tend to think that linux is a continual ßeta grade software. > Kevin Kofler -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
