Trying to find out why no other ports are working, the output of
netstat -an follows.

From this I can not determine why using other ports 8888 or 8880 for
httpd prevents it from starting.

Thanks again to everyone for your help,
Philip

Tim, thanks for your help. I'm all set I've found the solution to my problem.

joe, iptables -L returns,

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

tcpdump -X -i eth0 returns too much output because I am connecting
with ssh at the same time.

Thanks for everyones help,

Philip
