Then I took a job cataloging foreign language materials into the Library of Congress, which collects in 470 if not more. (I did Balto-Fennic, Germanic, and Romance; very rarely anything not in the Roman alphabet.) Anybody know how many different ways different languages spell just their cognates for "institute"?
