Two things that I think make SuSE's boot menu looks (this is the keyword, here) cool:
- Position of the text (
i.e., the position of the boot selection in the middle of the screen)
- Visualization of the timeout (using an animated icon)
I find these 2 factors more visually appealing. Eye candy, for sure... but oh, how sweet it is... :)
