And the linux32 program I just saw mentioned earlier in this thread makes it even simpler, since you don't need to edit the firefox script to stop using the 64 bit version, just run firefox under linux32 (once you have the 32 bit version installed). Haven't tried it myself, but I probably will soon. (Actually I wonder if I could run yum under linux32 and avoid setting up the 32 bit specific repos?)
