Can someone point me to the FM/howto/tutorial that describes how to install a vanilla kernel in a Fedora system, preferably without using rpm? I've built the kernel, but I'd like to learn where everything goes and how it's created, especially the compressed stuff in /boot, but the rest of it as well (such as what pieces go into /lib/modules, /usr/src/redhat, etc.). Thanks, Jay
Have you tried the FAQ at http://kernel.org?
