In https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=196871 I asked a
question
that was never answered. Perhaps someone in the list knows:
What does module signing imply for folks who have their own kernel modules
the build? Will "home brew" kernel modules be unable to load?
If I can't load them, how the devil do I get my custom modules to work
again?
If I can load them, what is the point in module signing (which I imagine
has
something to do with security)?
http://lwn.net/Articles/92617/ explains this. There is no plans to enforce
any restrictions on third party kernel modules being loaded. Hope that helps.
yes, this is also in contrast with suse. Another reason to use redhat
linux. I guess Fedora/RHEL is pretty much what redhat linux means now
isn't it, the name lives on:)
