I tried
# rpm --rebuilddb
# yum clean all
# yum update -y
same problem still occurred.

sometimes the yum update repositories are in the process of being
updated, so as you can imagine .. maybe not all rpm's are yet present in
the repo .... i just wait a day or so ... then its ok because all
dependencies are met
