Hmmm, I've been thinking about trying xen for sometime, just to see what its all about. For this task its a rather overkill, but still might try it anyway sometime just for kicks. As for installing centos in full, I don't have the disk space for that unfortunately (I'm not giving fc for it). Looks like I'm sticking with the ./configure approach. These is an option to add a suffix to all binaries, so I can install them as custom "gcc-345" etc., just like the compat rpms. Simplest solution I think. Chris
