Well, things like mounting USB drives, and letting you access
cameras. It works with udev to take over and enhance the functions
that hotplug used to do. It does a bunch more, but too much to
explain in an e-mail. You may want to read the release notes for
FC5, as well as some of the HAL documentation on the web...
