I am using FC5.

I seem to have two pythons installed.  One in /usr/local/bin and one in /usr/bin

[10:42:38 root@~]/usr/local/bin/python
Python 2.0.1 (#1, Jul 12 2006, 18:03:04)
[GCC 3.4.4 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2)] on linux2
Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import yum
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
ImportError: No module named yum
>>>
[10:42:53 root@~]/usr/bin/python
Python 2.3.5 (#1, Aug 25 2005, 09:17:42)
[GCC 3.4.2 20041017 (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3)] on linux2
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

The above message is interesting since 2.3.5 is not the current version
of python, although you don't say whether you are using FC4 or FC5.
