If you install the package "php-mysql" it should integrate it on it's own, just restart Apache.

         Having messed up installing Apache and got help from the
list  I decided to ask for guidance first

         How do I install  PHP 5  and then install/link to MySQL I
know I need to add a module in Apache config file but where does it come from
