I am using the 3rd eidtion of that book. It is the best of most of the books i have gone through, on this topic.

I was still hoping to get a mailing list access for c + sockets + fedora (any of the combinations).

although it's a bit dated, i suspect the late richard stevens' "unix
network programming" (2nd ed.) is still an excellent primer on the
subject.  you can find the supporting web page at www.kohala.com.

if there's a newer and better book on the subject, i'd be interested
in knowing what it is.
