Henk, have you looked up those printers at linuxprinting.org?

Regarding the Brother HL2030, it says "works mostly".

For the SAmsung ML1710 it says "works perfectly. I don't see a listing
there for the 1610.

Rather than take my word for it I urge you to go look at the database
there yourself. They have a lot more information than what I gave you here.
