Do you get the same result if on FC5 you compile it using the following compiler options: -O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m32 -march=i386 -mtune=generic -fasynchronous-unwind-tables These are the options used for building virtually all of the RPM packages in FC5.
