You are building the package as root. Don't do that. Just follow the

~/rpmbuild/SOURCES directory of the non-root account you build the
package as.

Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.11404 (%prep)
Is this entirely the key issue? What command should I have used?
The key issue is just a warning and can be ignored.
Working my way through, I'm now back at the rebuild stage. The jdk package is
in ~/rpmbuild/SOURCES along with 2 other related files, but I still have
errors. It seems to be looking
for /home/anne/rpmbuild/SOURCES/jdk-1_5_0_07-linux-i586.bin and finding
/home/anne/rpmbuild/SOURCES/jdk-1_5_0_07-linux-i586.rpm.bin
Have I gone wrong somewhere, or is there a file that I need to edit?
You're oh, so close...
Go back to the Sun site and get the .bin that *doesn't* contain the RPM.
