I just installed FC5 and can not get the package manager to work. When it starts looking for software information halts, shows error "unable to retrieve software information". When you click OK it closes the window. Any help anybody can give me will be very much appreciated.

The package manager only works via the network initially. Are you trying
to install off of DVD or CDs or over the network via a mirror?
