If I manage to > get it open and type the address into the address bar, it will open > the directory in question. ---- what worked for me (and I had some similar types of issues - no problems with firefox and rarely use konq but amarok & xmms didn't work for me) I updated (which you have done), ran the soundcard detection and then restarted. It cleared things up nicely for me. Craig
