It is not clear to me what you actually did. Some questions: a. Did you use the cups web interface? localhost:631 b: I suspect you chose the jetdirect option as the device . Am I right? Well that is a mistake. We have numbers of HP printers with jetdirect interfaces. We always choose the lpr device or ipp device using the hostname of of the jetdirect device and raw as the queue name. try lpr and the raw queue name with cups-lpd running and I think things will work. > > I have tried priting to the following: > HP 8000 > HP 8150 > HP 4200 > > Any time I try to print I get the following message: > > There was a problem sending CUPS test page to printer queue: > /usr/bin/lpr: Connection Refused > > When I said no to the test print confirmation this is what came up > after it: > > I [16/Jun/2006:09:31:05 -0400] Adding start banner page "none" to job > 6. > I [16/Jun/2006:09:31:05 -0400] Adding end banner page "none" to job 6. > I [16/Jun/2006:09:31:05 -0400] Job 6 queued on "printer" by "root". > I [16/Jun/2006:09:31:05 -0400] Started > filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 3848) for job 6. > I [16/Jun/2006:09:31:05 -0400] Started > backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/socket (PID 3849) for job 6. > > Can anyone give me any ideas on how to fix this?
