All MicroSoft products handle floppies better than all versions
of Linux.


And the last time I used a Mac with a floppy drive it had the correct
behaviour (detected and appeared on the desktop).  That would be a
decade ago...

(That said, it also had the incorrect behaviour that if the disk got
stuck in the drive it was possibly an RMA)
