How can I > restore it to something useful? Out of interest, was it just for the ntfs stuff that you built a custom kernel? try booting with enforcing=0 on the end of your kernel line. for it to be more informative, you should probably edit the line to say something like this: kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.16.10 ro root=/whatever enforcing=0 ie remove any mention of rhgb/quiet. You should see a large number of errors, but at least you can do stuff when the boot process has finished. incidentally, for the ntfs stuff you can just as easily use the livna repository and install kmod-ntfs regards Stuart - -- Stuart Sears RHCA RHCX "Quit worrying about your health.
