What kind of hard drives do you have? With that info, I would boot to the working kernel, copy the initrd file to /tmp and rename it to add .gz. Then gunzip it and use cpio to list the contents.
..sorry for my banal question but I don't known 'cpio', I must copy in /tmp the file 'initrd-2.4.22-1.2115.nptlcustom.img' or the 'file initrd-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl.img', after this copy what I must make ??
I can add that the machine is a toshiba Satellite Pro. thanks again. ------ Salvatore.
