Thanks for the info on Linuxant.. However, I was looking for someone who'd say, I'll ship you the wireless card, and give me access to the appropriate software with instructions... a simple package of cards/software would make the whole process simple. which is what it's going to need to be if you're going to have wireless Linux be used by more than the bleeding edge techs!! -bruce -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Lyvim Xaphir Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 6:35 PM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: RE: FC4 And Dlink DWL-G630 WiFi card, A Complete NO-GO On Fri, 2006-05-19 at 10:55 -0700, bruce wrote: > as an off topic... > > i'm getting to be convinced that there is a small/lucrative business for > someone to put together the wireless card/software for FC(linux) that they > can pretty much guarantee will work.. and then to sell this as a bundle .... > > hell.. i'd pay for it!!!! > > this has to be one of the more frustrating things about linux... > > -bruce > Bruce, they have. I posted this earlier, evidently people aren't looking at the whole thread. Go to http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/ And get both their version of the ndiswrapper, plus a matching kernel to go with it, that has 16 stacks compiled in. They DO give support, and a trial timeperiod so that you can decide if the driver works for you before you pay for it. The other thing is that they can give you support, since they charge for these services.
